The Civic Engagement Program (CEP) underscores the role an institution of higher education has as a member of local and statewide communities. We celebrate students and the commitment and strengths they bring to our campus and the community. We support students by enhancing and encouraging their life-long pledge to active citizenship.

Community engagement helps make the connection between content education and civic responsibility and underscores the importance of knowledge in a democratic society. “Civically engaged individuals exhibit dedication, judgment, and an understanding of the consequences of their actions."

• MLK Day of Service - Monday, January 18 - Meet at 9 a.m., North Room, IMU. More information can be found on the Volunteer Center of Johnson County Website.
• Project Holiday Volunteer Opportunity - On December 9th, you can volunteer to help choose and pack donated toys for kids in our community! CEP will provide transportation! More information can be found on the Volunteer Center of Johnson County Website.
• Let the Civic Engagement Program know how you are making a difference by volunteering!

• Would you like to volunteer but don’t know where or how to start looking for opportunities? Please complete the Volunteer Interest Profile and check one or more areas of volunteer interest. Once we receive your information, we will contact you to offer resources and guidance on how you can get involved and make a difference.
