Students majoring in Communication Studies, Interdepartmental Studies - Business Track, Marketing, Sales, HR, Management & Organizations, Psychology etc.

The fair will be located in the Pomerantz Career Center, C310 Pomerantz Center, 3rd Floor. See building locator map.
What should I bring to the Career Fair? Do I need to pre-register?
Bring your Student ID and 5-10 copies of your resume.
(Alumni, Non-UI students and Community Members are allowed to attend and will be able to sign-in on a hard copy sheet).
You do not need to pre-register, but can RSVP to sherry-rhinehart@uiowa.edu to receive updates and be entered into the drawing for a door prize. Please include your name, major and email address.
Is there a fee to attend the Career Fair?
No - the fair is free and open to all majors!

What should I do to prepare?
1. Have your resume reviewed during Pomerantz Career Center walk-in hours - Mon-Friday, 9am-4pm
2. Research the organizations you are interested in (use the link above and review their company specific websites). You will want to know what the company does, what positions they have available, and how your skills fit with each position.
3. Come up with a few questions to ask each employer.
4. Drop your resume and/or sign-up for on-campus interviews through UI Employment Expo - under the Career Events Tab
(the resume drop deadline is March 24).
5. Pick up a printed guide one week prior to the fair.
6. Practice your handshake and a quick introduction.
7. Practice your interview skills - participate in a Mock Interview!
What should I wear to the Career Fair?
We recommend dressing professionally (see examples) especially if you are actively searching for an internship or full-time position. Business casual might be appropriate for some employers. It's important to make a good first impression!
