What Can I Do With a Major in... Cinema and Comparative Literature
|
While studying cinema and comparative literature, students will learn to express ideas, moods, feelings, and learn to communicate dramatic information. Students will study the theory of film, film technology and equipment, production, direction, and editing of film, and management of film operations. Related courses that will aid cinema students are ones that involve humanities, psychology, the arts, and modern society in order to facilitate the development of their craft. Students will also focus on the two or more literary traditions in their original languages/translations. A student's ability to express themselves verbally and visually by using the actions and words of others is necessary. A desire to learn about people from different areas and cultures as well as the ability to work well with others, be creative, and accept criticism are characteristics of a successful cinema and comparative literature student. Technical expertise and skills are mostly acquired through on the job experiences. High competition for jobs can be expected due to high attraction to this field.
