My Paris internship gave me the opportunity to work and practice in my field of business and communications. By interning at Hotelrooms.com, I was given the opportunity to study in a foreign country, along with improving my skills in a foreign language. Paris is a great city to live and work in; my internship allowed me to network and find other opportunities to continue living in Paris.
My current job, which I have been with for the last year, has provided me with a working visa that will allow me to stay and work in Paris for the next few years. My most rewarding experience has simply been to not just survive, but to live and thrive in a foreign country. I have been living in Europe for the last 3 years after studying abroad in Torino, Italy my Junior year of college. I believe my first step to embarking on this great adventure was to take advantage of what my university had to offer outside of just class.
I initially used the Pomerantz Career Center to search for an internship in France. Although they offered no international opportunities, the Center did their best to point me in the right direction and provide as much information as possible. The Pomerantz Career Center was extremely accommodating and eager to help. The staff was friendly and motivated.
