STUDENTS Walt Disney World College Program

The University of Iowa Disney College Internship Program is a one of a kind internship opportunity in Florida. This non-credit internship experience will provide students from The University of Iowa with a wide array of skills and experience they can later use to market themselves when searching for a full-time position.

Students participating in this internship will have the opportunity to:

University of Iowa Housing Cancellation
  • Students currently residing in residence halls, who will not be returning to live in the residence hall during their internship, are responsible for canceling their room and board contract with Residence Services according to cancellation deadlines.
  • A letter verifying your participation in this internship will be required to cancel your room and board contract. Please make an appointment with Sara Burden to request such a letter.

Guided Independent Study Courses
  • Students may take Guided Independent Study courses while participating in the Disney College Program.
  • Registration for Guided Independent Study courses does not provide a student with full-time or part-time student status. It provides the student with an opportunity to complete required or elective coursework at The University of Iowa while participating in their internship.

  • Guided Independent Study courses are the responsibility of the student. They are an opportunity in which a student can elect to participate, but should not interfere with the Disney College Program internship.

University of Iowa Application Requirements

To participate in the Disney College Program, students
must be.......

  • In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • If a student’s GPA falls below a 2.0 after completing the Disney College Program Application materials or after being offered an internship, the student is no longer eligible to participate according to college policy.
  • Upon ineligibility, the student is responsible for withdrawing from the Disney College Program as well as canceling 0-credit internship registration through the Pomerantz Career Center.

University of Iowa Internship Registration
  • Through the Pomerantz Career Center and in conjunction with The University of Iowa, students may receive transcript notation for participation and completion of the Disney College Program Internship.
  • For more information about registering this internship for transcript notation, click here.
  • Registering this internship for transcript notation through the Pomerantz Career Center will provide students with full-time student status at The University of Iowa, despite no enrollment in credit-bearing courses on or off campus.
  • The University of Iowa does not provide academic credit for the Disney College Program Internship. Academic credit can be received from another institution and transferred into The University of Iowa as elective credit.
