This individual will serve as a primary academic advisor to an assigned caseload of undergraduate students, guiding students through academic plan development to meet their academic, career, or personal goals. The caseload could include majors related to health, humanities and sciences, as well as support of an office retention program.Impact & Responsibilities: Serves as primary academic advisor to an assigned undergraduate students; guides students to meet academic, career, and/or personal goals; supports office retention programs; supports institutional recruitment efforts at on-campus and off-campus events; designs and implements outreach and programming to meet student needs; facilitates academic advising, student success, and retention efforts for targeted groups of undergraduate students; and supports new and ongoing institutional retention, student success, and enrollment management initiatives.Requirements: Master's degree; at least two years of advising or related experience in higher education; and excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.Graduate student experience will be considered.Occasional evening and weekend work will be necessary.Preferred: Master's degree in college student personnel or related field.  UNI actively seeks to enhance diversity and is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Office Assistant - Radiation Oncology

We are seeking an individual to provide support and assistance to Radiation Oncology administrative and clinical staff.  Examples of assignments include scanning, updating records, running errands, possibly providing short-term phone coverage, and other miscellaneous duties. Required skills include time management, computer proficiency, attention to detail, communication, organization, and confidentiality.  This position will provide a great opportunity for undergrad students seeking experience in a health care and/or administrative environment.  Dependability is a must.  Prefer previous work experience in a medical setting or office environment.  Experience with an electronic medical record is very helpful. *This position is HIPAA-compliant and the selected candidate will be required to complete all health care compliance trainings.Schedule:  Must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule of 10-15 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm.  Preference will be given to applicants with consistent availability during the upcoming academic year.  We plan to fill this position as soon as possible.  Hourly rate of pay:  Starting at $12/hr with potential for higher hourly rate depending on applicable experience.    To apply, send a resume and include a cover letter describing relevant experience to:joleen-timm@uiowa.edu

Receptionist, Academic Support & Retention (AS&R)

Arrive 5-10 minutes early for the start of shifts.Prepare reception and service areas.If opening or closing the office, receptionist must: unlock AS&R office spaces; complete mail procedures, including collecting outgoing mail and distributing incoming mail to staff mailboxes; check voicemail and conduct follow up communication as needed.Maintain a positive, welcoming attitude and presence in the reception area.Greet (in person or via phone) students, faculty, staff, and other guests/callers, assess their concerns/needs, answer their questions, and/or refer them to the appropriate AS&R staff member or office.Help to monitor the Academic Support & Retention calendar for “consult room” scheduling purposes.Communicate issues/challenges as they arise with supervisor and/or appropriate AS&R staff member.Assist staff with administrative and program support activities and/or tasks that can be done without leaving the reception area (e.g. typing & data entry, updating records & running reports, composing on or off-campus mailing materials, and coding survey data).Attend and participate in all training sessions and scheduled meetings, including a routine one-on-one meeting with your direct supervisor.Please see the Qualtrics Application for more information on required & desired qualifications, as well as wages and hiring information. IT Support Assistant

Health Care Information Systems is seeking a University of Iowa student employee to assist with moving and/or setting up computer equipment. Will require some heavy lifting. Work with desktop support staff. Some general office duties, including some phone work. Position is located the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, Iowa.Must have large blocks of time (2-3 hours) available to work between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.Must be a current University of Iowa student (freshman, sophomore, or junior) and be available to work upcoming semesters and academic breaks.
